Frequently Asked Questions

Air duct cleaning costs vary depending on the type of building and number of HVAC systems present. When it comes to effective duct cleaning, it’s more beneficial to pay for a professional duct cleaning than to resort to a cheap alternative.

If you’re in the Dallas Fort Worth area or surrounding areas, contact us now to discuss your air duct cleaning project.

As per EPA Air Duct cleaning has never been shown to actually prevent health problems. Neither do studies conclusively demonstrate that particle (e.g., dust) levels in homes increase because of dirty air ducts. This is because much of the dirt in air ducts adheres to duct surfaces and does not necessarily enter the living space.

The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) recommends getting your air ducts cleaned every three to five years. Homeowners with children, pets, respiratory issues, or a compromised immune system may want to get their HVAC duct system cleaned more often.

The typical single-family home’s air duct cleaning takes between two to four hours with a crew consisting of at least two technicians. Older homes and those with pets may take longer to clean.

The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA)  requires that technicians utilize a powerful vacuum designed specifically for air duct cleaning. The vacuum may be mounted on a truck, or technicians may use a portable unit. Both types of equipment are approved by the National Air Duct Cleaners Association.

As per NADCA here are the 4 signs you need air duct cleaning,

  1. Mold has been found in your furnace or air conditioning system.
  2. Your home was just built or has undergone a major renovation.
  3. Your home is very dusty, no matter how often you clean.
  4. You’ve noticed your heating and/or cooling costs climbing.

Think of your air ducts as your home’s lungs. They take in the air around them and circulate that same air back into your home. We then inhale that air into our own lungs. Unfortunately, when your air ducts are circulating dirty air, that means you’re inhaling it. Indoor air is often more polluted than the air outdoors, and it can cause serious problems for many people, especially those with allergies and asthma.

In homes with dirty air ducts, occupants may experience symptoms that are similar to the symptoms of allergies, including coughing, sneezing, and runny nose. Mold, dust and other contaminants lurking in your ducts could also cause sore throat, headaches and even dizziness.

If you want to help the health and safety of your family, friends, or building occupants, then yes! Air duct cleaning services use specialized blowers, vacuums, and brushes to clean your system’s airflow path.

Not only does air duct cleaning ensure the indoor air quality of your home, but it can also help boost energy efficiency levels.

You may never have thought about it this way, but your house breathes all day long! Air comes in and goes out through the tiniest holes and gaps, through electrical outlets, and around doors and windows.

And air that gets sucked into your house may be coming through the dirtiest, dustiest areas – like your attic, crawl space, and walls, or on the kids’ shoes and the dog’s paws.

It’s great to run your heat or air conditioner all day so you can maintain a nice, comfortable temperature, but when you do you’re constantly pulling and pushing dust around.

Your HVAC system is designed to move air around your house, room to room, in and out. It is, quite literally, creating the problem you’re trying to eliminate!

The process begins by removing the registers of the supply vents from there, technicians insert long flexible brushes or whips into the ducts. The brushes usually spin and have a vacuum attachment to knock loose and suck up dust for effective air duct cleaning.
